We are a Certified Green Business.
CMSA was officially recognized as a Green Business by the Marin County Board of Supervisors at their August 2005 meeting.
As part of the certification process, CMSA was inspected. The inspectors were most impressed by:

- CMSA’s exemplary record of compliance with environmental regulations
- The methane co-generation project, in which methane gas produced in the
treatment process is used to power a generator, producing more than 50% of the
power demands of the entire treatment plant and headquarters office.
- Use of bicycles and electric carts for on-site transportation

- The overall commitment to environmental responsibility and recycling
- Reclaimed water usage for irrigation, cooling water, plant maintenance and
cleaning activities

CMSA continues to maintain this environmental awareness in the choices of
products we use, our recycling efforts, and by selecting pumps, blowers,
variable frequency drives, and other plant equipment that reduce electrical
consumption. By working together, our goal of protecting the environment is
achieved in an efficient and green way.
