Central Marin Sanitation Agency

CMSA issues wastewater discharge permits to individuals and for certain types of businesses. The enforcement of these permits helps to prevent industrial and hazardous wastes from being discharged into the sewage collection systems in our service area, which includes:

Fairfax, Ross, San Anselmo, Greenbrae, Kentfield, Larkspur, Corte Madera, areas of San Rafael south of the Santa Venetia ridge, and unincorporated areas of Ross Valley. (Terra Linda and the Marin County Civic Center are not in our service area.)

Permit required for all engine, body, radiator, car wash, corp yard, fleet service companies

PHOTOPROCESSING WASTE
BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES (BMP)

No permit required-must comply with photoprocessing waste BMP

 

HAULED WASTE POLICIES

--Grease Traps

Hauled Waste Policy specifies area from which each type of waste will be accepted.

No permit required, contact CMSA to be placed on list of approved haulers.

 

GROUNDWATER
DISCHARGE PERMIT

CMSA accepts discharge of contaminated groundwater, provided that it is generated in the CMSA service area and it meets discharge limits. Permit required.
