National

Environmental Protection Agency http://www.epa.gov

Develops environmental regulations; monitors State implementation and, where absent, directly administers environmental regulations. Local Western States office (based in San Francisco) is Region IX.

National Association of Clean Water Agencies http://www.nacwa.org

Serves as a round-table for governmental and private sector discussions.

Water Environment Federation http://www.wef.org

Full service Association that publishes water quality related documents, funds research, advices the federal government and more.
